I just committed a simplified version of the patch, doing the version
check directly in nv-linux.h. conftest.h will only be updated if
upstream changes conftest.sh.

Could you try this again on 3.4? It does not break the build in squeeze,
backports, sid and experimental (2.6.32, 3.2, 3.3), but I don't have 3.4
at hand.
