A quick aside on this: this relationship seems to be the wrong way around.
Installing nvidia-settings 304.37-1 doesn't cause the legacy NVIDIA
drivers to stop working, so I don't think it should have a Conflicts.
Rather, the legacy NVIDIA drivers should declare a Breaks against
nvidia-settings (>> whatever version dropped legacy driver support), since
it's the nvidia-settings package that stops working properly when those
drivers are in use.

(Also, shouldn't there be some sort of conflicts relationship between the
two nvidia-settings packages?  They both provide the same binary names,
don't they?)
