Bug#686277: nvidia-glx: broken on GeForce 8300 GS

Some additional info:

I tried the binary 304.43 driver from nvidia. I got the exact same
result as with the 304.37 version in Debian. I've attached the xorg
log file and also the installer's log.
The installer did warn me against using a different version of gcc
(4.7.1) than the one used to compile my kernel (4.6.3). I ignored it.
I seriously doubt this issue could be causing such major breakage. I
suppose I'll try at some point to try a newer kernel or compile one
myself.

I've found another report of the same issue on same generation video
cards from NVIDIA:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=141416

At this point I guess I'll try to see how to submit this issue
upstream (where should I go?). Any advice on the matter is welcome

Best

Andres
