Inconsistencies between the nvidia installer and the nvidia-driver package.

I've submitted a bug report through 'bugreport' as requested
(nvidia-driver: Inconsistencies between the Nvidia installer and
nvidia-driver on Optimus notebook) . I believe discussion will carry on
over there?
