Some quick results from today.
I purged all kernel headers and installed linux-headers-3.12-1-amd64.
Now only this packages are installed:
rc linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64 2.6.32-38 amd64 Linux 2.6.32 for 64-bit PCs
rc linux-image-3.1.0-1-amd64 3.1.6-1 amd64 Linux 3.1 for 64-bit PCs
ii linux-image-3.12-1-amd64 3.12.6-2 amd64 Linux 3.12 for 64-bit PCs
rc linux-image-3.2.0-3-amd64 3.2.23-1 amd64 Linux 3.2 for 64-bit PCs
ii linux-image-amd64 3.12+55 amd64 Linux for 64-bit PCs (meta-package)
ii linux-headers-3.12-1-amd64 3.12.6-2 amd64 Header files for Linux 3.12-1-amd64
ii linux-headers-3.12-1-common 3.12.6-2 amd64 Common header files for Linux 3.12-1
But the compilation of the NVidia driver still fails.
See attached make.log
echo >&2 " ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid."; \
echo >&2 " include/generated/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing.";\
echo >&2 " Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it."; \
That's not normal!
Cheers
Karsten
