Hi,

Thanks for your reply! I'll try to answer your questions below:

Ah, I didn't know that.

This is a Debian stretch system running on an Intel i7-3520M [0] with
only the integrated graphics chip available.

Without my script, I get this:

	$ vdpauinfo
	display: :0   screen: 0
	Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_i965.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
	Error creating VDPAU device: 1
	$

When I (let my script) set $VDPAU_DRIVER to "va_gl" (from the libvdpau
-va-gl1 package [1]), things start to work:

	$ VDPAU_DRIVER=va_gl vdpauinfo
	display: :0   screen: 0
	libva info: VA-API version 0.38.0
	libva info: va_getDriverName() returns 0
	libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i965_drv_video.so
	libva info: Found init function __vaDriverInit_0_38
	libva info: va_openDriver() returns 0
	API version: 1
	Information string: OpenGL/VAAPI/libswscale backend for VDPAU
