I tried running both versions and the generated output is the same minus
the date and version:

$ diff xconfig-340.46 xconfig-352.30
2c2
< # nvidia-xconfig:  version 340.46  (buildd at brahms)  Tue Oct  7 08:00:32 UTC 2014

If after removing the Ubuntu packages you still have issues, you could
try the same experiment.

nvidia-xconfig -o xconfig-340.46

Download the 352.30 installer from the Nvidia website, extract it into a
tmp directory (./NVIDIA... -x), and run ./nvidia-xconfig -o
xconfig-352.30 and check if there's any difference. If so, I will
package up the newer version.
