On my desktop the following combination works:
fglrx-atieventsd 1:15.7-3
fglrx-control 1:15.7-3
fglrx-driver 1:15.7-3
fglrx-modules-dkms 1:15.7-3
fglrx-source 1:15.7-3
glx-alternative-fglrx 0.5.1
libfglrx:amd64 1:15.7-3
libfglrx-amdxvba1:amd64 1:15.7-3
libgl1-fglrx-glx:amd64 1:15.7-3
x11-xserver-utils 7.7+5
xserver-common 2:1.17.2-2
xserver-xorg-core 2:1.17.2-1.1
xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.9.2-1
xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:7.5.0-1+b1
xserver-xorg-video-mach64 6.9.5-1
xserver-xorg-video-r128 6.10.0-1
xserver-xorg-video-radeon 1:7.5.0-1+b1

So fglrx does not require privileged X, but it requires a /usr/bin/X !
After upgrading to the experimental packages /usr/bin/X was gone and in
my environment with fglrx+kdm+kde Xorg was unable to start..
Adding a symlink from /usr/bin/X to /usr/bin/Xorg solved it.

Could you please add this symlink to the new packages?
