Yes, that is the intended effect, as if one has the multiarch i386
enabled the i386 libraries will be most likely needed. Note however that
it's a Recommends, not a Depends, so if you do not want to have those
installed you can use "apt-get install --no-install-recommends" and they
will be skipped.
