I believe this bug has been fixed. This is quite old bug, I simply forgot that it even existed.

THOUGH, currently in Sid I experience different bug #901701 [0], but that's seems to be related with 
optirun, not nvidia-driver. There's no problem if I run
PRIMUS_UPLOAD=1 primusrun glxgears, so I guess NVIDIA works.
