New Driver?

Hi folks,

I recently purchased a GT 1030. When I put it in my PC (running
Debian Testing), it wouldn't work. After some discussion in the Debian
IRC channel, I found out that the source of the issue is an
incompatibility between the Nvidia driver that's in the Debian
repository and the Xorg driver. The folks there said I would need a
newer version of the proprietary driver to get my GPU working on Debian
Testing. When can we expect that? Or should I just install Debian
testing instead?

Thanks,
