Package: nvidia-cuda-toolkit
Version: 9.1.85-4+b1
Severity: normal
Justification: (wishlist -> normal) new upstream version fixes RC #892415.
CUDA 9.2 is available now:
https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads
Nvidia-driver blocks[1] the new version of CUDA:
CUDA 9.2 (9.2.88) >= 396.26
nvidia-driver/unstable,unstable,now 390.48-3 amd64 [installed]
As per upstream release note, the following compilers are supported:
Clang 5.0
GCC 7.X
That being said, I haven't test any program with CUDA 9.2 yet.
I guess the next default clang version of Debian would be clang 6.0,
skipping clang 5.0 . Besides, the current default GCC is 7.X, but
I guess doko would bump it to 8.X before the Buster release.
That is to say, even if CUDA 9.2 came along with new compiler support,
there are still potential RC bugs (triggered by compiler removal).
