Package: nvidia-persistenced
Version: 384.111-1~bpo9+1

it seems there's something wrong with the version numbers
of nvidia-persistenced. Today my system wanted to /upgrade/
from stretch-backports to stretch:

$ LANG=C wajig policy  nvidia-persistenced
  Installed: 384.111-1~deb9u1
  Candidate: 384.111-1~deb9u1
  Version table:
     390.25-1 155
        155 http://ftp.debian.org/debian testing/contrib amd64 Packages
        100 http://ftp.debian.org/debian unstable/contrib amd64 Packages
 *** 384.111-1~deb9u1 990
        990 http://ftp.debian.org/debian stretch/contrib amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     384.111-1~bpo9+1 800
        800 http://ftp.debian.org/debian stretch-backports/contrib amd64
