I've packaged pci.ids into its own source and binary package now,
switched pciutils to depend on it, and filed the following bugs to
add dependencies to other packages, switch them from pciutils
dependencies or to switch from embedding the file to use the
centralized database:

  ddcutil <https://bugs.debian.org/944834>
  discover-data <https://bugs.debian.org/944836>
  hwdata <https://bugs.debian.org/944500>
  ladvd <https://bugs.debian.org/944837>
  libosinfo <https://bugs.debian.org/944502>
  libpciaccess0 <https://bugs.debian.org/944498>
  lshw <https://bugs.debian.org/944503>
  lsvpd <https://bugs.debian.org/944835>
  ricks-amdgpu-utils	<https://bugs.debian.org/944830>

I'm thus closing this report now.

Thanks,
Guillem
