It's not exactly a rename, but at some point nvidia introduced a variant
of their libGL.so.1 that is based on glvnd (so we had both
libgl1-nvidia-glx and libgl1-nvidia-glvnd-glx), and at some point after
the 418 series they dropped the older non-glvnd variant.

So libgl1-nvidia-glvnd-glx:i386 (or rather nvidia-driver-libs:i386) is
what you want nowadays.

The Debian steam package has
   Suggests: nvidia-driver-libs, nvidia-vulkan-icd
Both these packages are built from src:nvidia-graphics-drivers.
Is there some package dependency elsewhere in the Debian archive that
still points to the no longer existing libgl1-nvidia-glx ?
