Package: nvidia-driver 525.105.17-1
Severity: important

Bug Description :
I have a Dell XPS 9520 laptop which has two Intel / Nvidia graphics cards and runs Debian 12. When I only use free drivers my laptop has good battery life.
When I install the proprietary Nvidia driver, even though Debian uses the free driver, the power consumption goes up by +/- 30%.
With the Cinnamon desktop, in "System Settings" there is an Nvidia icon that appears after installing the driver. But when I click on it, I can't configure anything. While on Ubuntu or Mangaro in this place I can choose which GPU to use by default, which is not possible on Debian ;-(
Therefore it is impossible for me to use the Nvidia driver even once installed via the GUI interface?? I saw there are solutions to launch apps from the command line, for example via Bumblebee, this is too complicated to use for an uninitiated person like my daughter.
Please try to make Nvidia drivers easier to use in the future on laptops with 2 integrated GPUs running Debian...
Best regards.
Philippe
