Source: nvidia-graphics-drivers
Version: 525.147.05-1
Severity: wishlist
The beta 535.43.02 currently packaged in experimental has been superseded
by a new "production branch" version 535.154.05.
I don't really understand Nvidia's versioning policy, but R535 seems to be
a long-term support branch for Tesla according to
<https://docs.nvidia.com/datacenter/tesla/drivers/index.html>, so hopefully
this is suitable for unstable and backports to bookworm too?
I've attempted to update the packaging in
<https://salsa.debian.org/nvidia-team/nvidia-graphics-drivers/-/merge_requests/8>.
I don't have a testing/unstable machine with an Nvidia GPU, but it seems to
work OK on bookworm.
(Disclosure: I was only updating this driver because I thought it might
make Baldur's Gate 3 split-screen coop stop crashing. It does not, but
that isn't a regression.)
I also tried to put together an update to the 545 "new feature" branch in
<https://salsa.debian.org/nvidia-team/nvidia-graphics-drivers/-/merge_requests/9>,
but that needs some additional backports/updates like nvidia-modprobe,
so I haven't attempted to test that one.
