Disclaimer: I have no clue what AppStream is or how it works.

Shouldn't all the driver series packages support this?
Since the different driver series are co-installable, they need to use 
different file names at the installation location to not conflict with 
each other.

isn't that a wildcard matching all nvidia gpus?
Shouldn't that be restricted to the ones supported by this driver?

For patch simplification, don't create the new file with a patch but 
place it in debian/.
