Hi,
Thank you for the fix.
The original DKMS build issue appears to be resolved with
nvidia-graphics-drivers version 550.163.01-5.
However, after installing this version and rebooting, I encountered a
different issue related to display output and session startup. I would like
to share my experience so far and ask whether this should be tracked here
or reported as a new bug.
1.
I updated nvidia-graphics-drivers to version 550.163.01-5 and kept
Kernel 6.18.15-1 pinned.
2.
I then rebooted the machine and everything worked normally (KDE started
as expected).
3.
Next, I unpinned Kernel version 6.18.15-1 to allow the update to a more
recent version. The update completed successfully, as expected.
4.
I rebooted the machine and, from the GRUB startup onward, I received no
screen output. I forced a reboot of the machine.
5.
I returned to GRUB and edited the line quiet splash nvidia-drm.modeset=1
nvidia-drm.fbdev=1, leaving only quiet splash.
6.
I pressed F10 to boot, but it did not work and I obtained the same
result. Once again, I forced a reboot of the machine.
7.
I returned to GRUB and repeated step 5, but this time leaving only quiet.
8.
I pressed F10 to boot and it worked normally up to SDDM (Desktop
Session: Plasma Wayland).
9.
I logged into the system and again received no screen output.
10.
I rebooted the machine once more and repeated step 5.
11.
I changed the SDDM Desktop Session to Plasma X11, and everything worked
normally.
At this point, it seems that the original module build problem has been
fixed, but a separate regression may remain affecting display
initialization and/or Plasma Wayland.
Please let me know whether you would prefer this to be tracked in this bug
report or in a new one.
