Introduction

Hi everyone,

My name is Sérgio Basto, and I'm a package maintainer at RPMFusion, a
third-party repository providing software that cannot be shipped in the
official RHEL and Fedora repositories. NVIDIA drivers are among the
most important packages we maintain, alongside non-free components of
FFmpeg, as well as x264 and x265. Our community also works on providing
NVIDIA CUDA.

I maintain the legacy NVIDIA 470xx driver branch and introduced the
580xx driver branch at RPMFusion.

Over the last couple of years, I've increasingly relied on your work as
my upstream reference, and I really appreciate the excellent work you
do on the Debian NVIDIA drivers. I'd be delighted to contribute to the
Debian NVIDIA driver community, exchange knowledge driver maintenance.
I believe that sharing our work and knowledge can benefit both
projects.

First of all, I'd like to point out that [merge request
!16](https://salsa.debian.org/nvidia-team/nvidia-graphics-drivers/-/merge_requests/16
) is equivalent to the changes already released in RPMFusion. This
means that users have most likely already been testing the same
changes, and so far I haven't received any bug reports.
