> Thank you very much for your reply.
> Now I could not try 2.6.32-5 and NVIDIA driver from Debian unstable
> (195.36.31).
> I am sorry. I have to use the computer to do something which is important
> now. So I don't
> use unstable software. And upgrading to a new testing version is a big job
> to me.
>
> I think the code which cause the problem might still be in the 2.6.32-5. and
> I don't know if NVIDIA driver from Debian unstable (195.36.31) can be used
> for my GPU which is a very old.
>
> The GPU might be NVIDIA's GeForce2 Go™.
>
> When I come back to my home I'll check it. I'll tell you it and attach the
> log file to you by email next Saturday.

If it's a GeForce2 you'll probably be using the legacy-96xx driver
already. But we can see this in detail from the logfile.

Please also give a list of all nvidia packages installed (including
their versions):

COLUMNS=150 dpkg -l | grep nvidia
I guess the problem is in the kernel or SElinux because the computer is OK with Ubuntu 6.06 which has a old kernel and no SElinux and the NVIDA's driver is same as in the debian 5.0.
