<div dir="ltr"><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div>Package: nvidia-glx<br></div>Version: 319.76<br><br></div>Dear Mainteners,<br><br></div>Since nvidia driver 320.x, Nvidia has implemented partially Optimus in their driver. Earch users which  have a laptop with Optimus technology can enabled the Nvidia card to display the desktop rendered instead of the Intel card.<br>
<br></div>For more explainations, you can read the readme here :<br><a href="http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/319.76/README/randr14.html">http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/319.76/README/randr14.html</a><br>
<br></div>So, i tried this solution in Debian Sid because there are the minimal requirements :<br></div>- Kernel 3.11 (> 3.9)<br></div>- Xrandr 1.4.1<br></div>- Xorg 1.14.3<br></div>- Nvidia drivers 319.76<br><br></div>
I follow the explainations in the readme after to install a fresh Debian Sid :<br></div>1- Install modesetting driver (aptitude install xserver-xorg-video-modesetting) -> Xorg and Xrandr are installed too.<br></div>2- Install Nvidia driver (aptitude install libgl1-nvidia-glx libgl1-nvidia-glx:i386)<br>
</div>3- Create a "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" as explained. I replace the BUSID example by the good ID (BUSID "PCI:1:0:0" for me) and i uncomment the "UseDisplayDevice" line.<br></div><div>4- Install the rest (mate etc...)<br>
</div>5- Create a ~/.xinitrc with the xrandr command + exec mate-session<br></div>6- Reboot, log-in, startx and ... FAILURE !!!<br><br></div>The problem is after the startx. It seems to work but i have a X server crash like this :<br>
<blockquote style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex" class="gmail_quote">X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)<br>Major opcode of failed request: 140 (RANDR)<br>
Minor opcode of failed request: 35 ()<br>Value in failed request: 0x2bf<br>Serial number of failed request: 16<br>Current serial number in output stream: 17<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div> To try to know if it's a problem with my laptop, i installed Archlinux and i follow the same way like previously. Result, it works without problem. <br>
<br></div><div>PS : Actually i'm on Arch because it works but i love Debian so... Thanks to help ;)<br></div></div>
