Very great news, many thanks ! :-)

And yes it would be great to see the 355 series in backports. I've heard that the packaging for it would be different due to new NVidia infrastructure. And also I need to point out that the 358 series is coming very soon (beta releases are already out) so it may be worthless to release a 355.xx driver. What do you think for this ?

2015-10-23 22:21 GMT+02:00 Andreas Beckmann <anbe@debian.org>:

On 2015-10-23 20:23, Julien Aubin wrote:
Once everything has stabilized again in sid and migrated to stretch we
will provide jessie-backports for
a) the new infrastructure packages (nvidia-support, glx-alternatives)
along with the current sid drivers (which is essentially the same as in
jessie right now), this should allow again to use the experimental
packages on jessie and
b) newer driver releases as they reach sid and stretch (which will
happen soon, since we have now forked off the 340 legacy series).
(and thereafter we can start experimenting in experimental with 355+
where nvidia did some more infrastructural changes)
