[Pkg-opencl-devel] New OpenCL Package - Oclgrind

Dear Debian OpenCL Maintainers,

I’m currently working on creating a new Debian package for Oclgrind. Oclgrind is an OpenCL device simulator which enables the creation of various debugging and analysis utilities. At present, it is mostly used as a debugger for OpenCL kernels, and can detect out-of-bounds memory accesses, data-races, and various other bugs, as well as providing an interactive source-line debugger. I am the upstream author, and this project is being actively developed, with some contributions coming in from third parties.

The upstream project is hosted on GitHub, and the Wiki has some more detailed information:
https://github.com/jrprice/Oclgrind/wiki

Is this package something that this team would be interested in sponsoring and/or assisting with maintaining? If not, I’ll look for a sponsor via debian-mentors. I thought I’d check here first, since this is an OpenCL development tool. The ITP number is 794787.

I have a first cut of the package, but there’s currently one or two small bugs in the llvm-3.[6,7]-dev packages that need to be fixed in order to build the source package.

Best wishes,

James
