The latest info I have is that support for llvm17/opaque pointers won't
be ready anytime soon. I'm thinking that there should be a fork of
llvm-toolchain-16 for intel-compute so that we can get rid of 14. This
fork would only build whatever is needed for the compute stack and
nothing else, and arch limited to amd64. There is a similar package for
ROCm.
