They're going to have to eventually, since the support is being dropped.
(Plus, that database format has a lot of corruption problems and ideally
shouldn't be used even now.)  So it's a question of how we want to handle
the transition for those users.

At the least, we should probably give ldbm users a warning and
instructions on how to convert to a different format.
