How do you do that in libtool? As near as I've ever been able to
determine, libtool doesn't support symbol versioning; you have to pass in
the explicit linker flags to point to a version file, and hence have to do
all the hard portability work yourself. libtool has the useless
--export-symbols flag, but that's about it.
