[Pkg-openldap-devel] backporting openldap 2.3.30-5 to sarge...

Hi,

For a server running Debian Sarge, I have to backport openldap 2.3.30-5,
before I upgrade the whole server to Debian Etch.

Unfortunately, even if all the build-dependencies were satisfied (only
quilt (>= 0.40) was not available in Debian Sarge), the build fails with:

cc -Wall -g -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -O2 -I../../include
-I/tmp/openldap2.3-2.3.30/servers/slapd
-I/tmp/openldap2.3-2.3.30/servers/slapd/slapi -I.
-I/tmp/openldap2.3-2.3.30/include -c -o sasl.o
/tmp/openldap2.3-2.3.30/servers/slapd/sasl.c
(...)
/tmp/openldap2.3-2.3.30/servers/slapd/sasl.c: In function `slap_sasl_init':
/tmp/openldap2.3-2.3.30/servers/slapd/sasl.c:985: `SASL_CB_GETCONFPATH'
undeclared (first use in this function)
(...)
make[3]: *** [sasl.o] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory
`/tmp/openldap2.3-2.3.30/debian/build/servers/slapd'
make[2]: *** [all-common] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/tmp/openldap2.3-2.3.30/debian/build/servers'
make[1]: *** [all-common] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/openldap2.3-2.3.30/debian/build'
make: *** [build-stamp] Error 2

Hence, I guess there is some problem with the "libsasl2-dev (>=
2.1.18-1)" build-dependency. I hope I'll manage to fix the problem by
backporting the cyrus-sasl2 package...

I'm not filing a bug report since I have not checked whether the problem
is still present in Sid's openldap, but wanted to let you know.

Cheers,

Nicolas Boullis
