I'm definitely in favor of this. I sent mail to the list a while back
wondering if this would be a good idea, but Steve didn't have a chance to
reply. I think it's reasonable to just go ahead.

Note that 2.4.9 isn't what we want to release with; it has more lingering
issues. It is, however, probably much better than what we have now, so I
think it's fine as an intermediate step.

Upstream has committed a bunch of patches for it, but I don't know where
we are in the release cycle. Quanah, do you think it will be out within
the next few weeks? If not, we're getting close to the lenny library
freeze.
