It would be great if you could help test new OpenLDAP releases then, such
as when I call for testing on RE24 on openldap-devel at openldap.org.

While I love Debian, and the packaging system it uses, it's seldom going to
be up to date with regards to the latest OpenLDAP release. In particular,
due to unfortunate timing, the current Debian package (OpenLDAP 2.4.11) is
vastly different from what the rest of the 2.4 series going forward is, as
major changes were done in the 2.4.12 release, such as dropping BDB 4.2
support and adding BDB 4.7 support. OpenLDAP 2.4.14 has reworked the
connection code for Linux 2.6 due to some issues with epoll and a race
condition. I would familiarize myself with:

<http://www.openldap.org/faq/data/cache/1456.html>

And that's not to say you shouldn't also help test new Debian releases as
well. ;)

Regards,
Quanah (OpenLDAP project release engineer)
