[Pkg-openldap-devel] init.d script works well, but won't start at boot

yes I did
#update-rc.d slapd defaults

Basically, the problem seems to be that
service slapd start DOESN'T WORK, while
/etc/init.d/slapd start WORKS FINE

I know exactly WHERE the problem comes from, but I have no idea how to
fix it

The problem comes from my configuration options when I installed OpenLDAP
#./configure --with-sql

When I install OpenLDAP without that "--with-sql" flag, everything works
fine and #service slapd start works fine
