Hi Ralph,

Thanks for reporting this bug. I'm sorry no one's answered it until now.

I'm not able to reproduce this bug in current stable or unstable,
installing slapd on an unmodified system.

The final error, "could not parse entry (line=1039)" seems odd to me,
because for me the initial cn=config content is less than 700 lines
long.

Can you provide any more information about the system where you
encountered this bug? Did it have any files already existing in
/etc/ldap/slapd.d or /var/lib/ldap? Did it have any files in
/etc/ldap/schema beyond those shipped with slapd?

Do you experience the same problem with slapd 2.4.39-1, now in
unstable and testing?

The failed installation should have left behind a temporary file named
/tmp/slapadd.XXXXXXXX (where the XXXX part is a random string), so if
you can still reproduce this failure, would you please provide a copy
of that file?
