Thanks for reporting this. I'm sorry no one has answered it for so long.
I did find some similar reports to yours on the Internet, e.g:

but couldn't determine whether it was ever resolved.
Since you wrote your report, both OpenLDAP and GnuTLS have had
significant improvements. In particular, the GnuTLS support in OpenLDAP
was completely rewritten for the 2.4 series.
I don't have access to an Active Directory installation, so I can't test
this myself. Can you please let us know whether you still have this
problem when using unmodified packages from the Debian archive?
