Hi all,

a few weeks ago I was bitten by this bug as well. I found a way to
work around the described slapd upgrade failure.

In Squeeze 6.0.1 the upgrade scripts worked as expected. Therefor I
used an old repository from http://snapshot.debian.org/ to upgrade
from Lenny to Squeeze 6.0.1:

$ echo "deb http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20110616T030927Z/ squeeze main" > /etc/apt/sources.list
$ apt-get update
$ apt-get install apt aptitude dpkg
$ apt-get dist-upgrade

This dist-upgrade worked like a charm. Afterwards I changed my
sources.list to something like "http.debian.net" and upgraded to
current Squeeze release.

I thought this could be of interest for someone else.

Best regards

Christian
