Hi pkg-openldap-devel readers,
I just pushed a branch "slapd-contrib" to salsa and am posting it now
for feedback. It addresses the wishlist bugs #592362 and #794999.
https://salsa.debian.org/openldap-team/openldap/compare/master...slapd-contrib
I added a new binary package called slapd-contrib. Initially it contains
pw-apr1, pw-netscape, pw-pbkdf2, and smbk5pwd. The existing
slapd-smbk5pwd package is replaced and becomes an empty transitional
package.
In buster+1 I would probably add more modules such as nssov, but for now
I kept it to the ones explicitly requested via bugs.
At this time I have no plans to move autogroup, lastbind, and pw-sha2 to
slapd-contrib as there is no way to handle that upgrade sanely.
I verified with debdiff(1) that the slapd package contains the same
files before and after these changes. I tested the smbk5pwd replacement
when upgrading within sid, and when upgrading from stretch to buster.
I am still hoping to include these changes in buster. I will probably
proceed with an RFS within a week if there are no comments.
thanks,
Ryan
