You are wellcome to help. As Kurt said, you do not need to be a Debian
developper. With your knowledge you could try to find fixes for open
bugs, evaluate old open bugs if they are still present etc.. If you have
patches you could send them to the list for us to integrate them. Or you
could apply for an alioth account and then I can give you access to the
SVN repository.
