True it does. I'm just debugging a problem (#617859) in ipsec-tools
package and it jumped to my mind, that the linked libssl might lack
sha512 support.

"algorithm SHA512 not supported by the kernel (missing module?)"

Anyway thanks for your answer. so openssl it out of the possible
reasons why it fails to use sha512.
