Indeed, if you are planning to do the 1.0.2 upload in the upcoming weeks, I
agree it makes the most sense to do only one pass through NEW.

For me, it's important but not terribly urgent. Ubuntu has been carrying
the diff for 2 years or more, I want Debian to also benefit from this work,
but I already knew it was going to take time.

Definitely, but since I'm the interested party in this change, I'll send
the equivalent patch if I find a bit of time to do it.
