exactly. This is meant as an update to what we have currently in Jessie BPO.
Jessie has the 1.0.1 openssl branch and bpo has 1.0.2. Stretch has the 1.1.0
which we can't push bpo because it provides a different ABI so it can't be a
drop in replacement (the bpo is an drop in replacement with some additional
features like ALPN and people asked for it (nginx in bpo makes use of it)).
In stable we have openssl1.0 which is the same as this bpo. Well, mostly:
- we have different library binary package name (libssl1.0.2 vs libssl1.0.0).
- openssl1.0 provides only the library while for bpo we need also to provide
  the openssl binary package and the doc package.
