OK, so the real problem was PEBKAC and I am officially an idiot, I mixed
the patches of openssl1.0 and openssl1.1, I was sending them in
parallel.

For 1.1 there are no algorithm choices, so forget about the comments of
the original message too.

Hopefully will attach the correct patch now, third time is the charm :)
