[Pkg-opt-media-team] Bug#565874: dvd+rw-tools: should drop dependency on genisoimage

Package: dvd+rw-tools
Version: 7.1-6

Hi,

when run manually, growisofs requires genisoimage in order to actually
make the underlying ISO9660 filesystem.

However, growisofs is mostly used by frontends, and at least brasero
(which is the one being installed by default for squeeze) will now
always use the -Z device=path option, which means growisofs will not
call genisomage internally.

Therefore, I’d like to see the genisoimage dependency disappear. It
could be turned into a Suggests, but not a Recommends. This way we can
entirely remove any cdrkit packages from the default installation, and
this would be a huge improvement.

Could you please think about it before squeeze?

Thanks,
