Please comment out lines 3 and 4 in manual.tex and codecs.tex, e.g.

%\usepackage{ucs}
%\usepackage[utf8x]{inputenc}

The ucs and utf8x packages break hyperref and are no longer needed
since LaTeX is now UTF-8 aware by default.

The upstream will update soon.
