Sounds like a fair statement. Since we were forced to give up on the
packaging starting with Stretch, we can’t really keep our initial
promise of providing an updated version in Jessie until Stretch is
released (and we’re forced to give up on the upgrade path and so on).

Agreed. Sorry we have not been able to provide a better support for Jessie.
