I don’t intend to take care of it myself for the time being, but won’t
stop anyone to step in (on the contrary, I could easily be convinced to
sponsor packages prepared by someone else on that purpose), and other
team members could step in too (people are welcome to join the team ;-).

Simply setting the apt-pinning for testing to something between 100 and
500 as described in apt_preferences(5) is enough to do the trick
currently (i.e. the same trick that was needed to properly use backports
until Squeeze). I personally use owncloud from testing on Wheezy servers
(and used to make it work under Squeeze too), and do intend to make sure
it still works if possible (or I may reconsider the backports request if
that’s not possible).
