I've upgraded to owncloud 8.1.1 from your people repository and did not 
see any glitch (yet).

However, I am only using a limited set of features, i.e. files, 
contacts, calendar, notes.

I have encountered a bug reg. the birthday calendar when using owncloud 
8.1.x and owncloud-contacts 0.4.0.0+dfsg-1,
where an easy fix is available: 
https://github.com/owncloud/contacts/pull/970

I will file a separate bug..
