Hi,
As one of the Debian maintainers of fpc (Free Pascal Compiler) I am
trying to bootstrap and build fpc on kfreebsd. (See some background in
bug 551400.)
I contacted one of the fpc core maintainers, and he has the following
questions, to which I don't have an answer. Can you help us out?
* Where is the startup code (csu aka CRT* files) coming from? Are they
specific to kfreebsd, similar to linux or to freeBSD?
* Some libraries on linux are build into the libc on freeBSD and vice
versa. My guess is that kfreebsd follows the "linux" way.
* Where is libphtreads coming from? For fpc: PThreads has a big userland
interface, but is probably kernel specific.
Probably more questions will follow.
Paul
