No, it isn't moot. The requirements of Debian also hold for the upstream
tar ball. If there are items that are generated, the way to prove that
it can still be generated is by generating it during build. However, I
won't force this view here. I do appreciate the idea, but am often also
practical. This items sounds trivial thou, so it is a good place to
start. (E.g. I got Michalis to provide make targets in
castle-game-engine for similar purposes).
