Of course you are free to do so, but I wouldn't bother. As discussed
before on this list¹, I will take care to remove the dependency in time
to not get view3dscene removed. The dependency is only there to get lots
of 3d files to use for regression testing, there is no specific need for
kicad from our point of view.
