That was the same approach I was thinking off. Could you please share
your tweaks?

Ouch. But until I am proven wrong, I would say that if it is an artifact
of jessie, the bug is also not really fixed.

My luck with qemu has never been great: so far qemu never worked for me.
So don't expect much from me in that case.
