Thank you for that link.

I started reading some bugs against release.debian.org to see how people
proceed, and found that release manger asks sometimes to fix first in unstable
as in [1].

I think this good as a kind of proof that the fix does not break anything and
really fixes the issue.
Of course in our case the fix is so small, but I'm anyway going to upload to
unstable first. Then I'll create the branch and make the stretch-pu package.
